About xPyrus
xPyrus is an open source framework that can be used to power a web based community. The main purpose is the ability to share documents and knowledge among the users. You may use it under the original idea of an independent platform for students or in any other context.
xPyrus is based on a PostgreSQL database, PHP and an apache webserver. The source is published under the Gnu Affero General Public License Version 3 as published on November 19th 2007.
xPyrus is originally developed to operate the existing student commnunity UniHelp.de
Original Idea
The idea of UniHelp is to connect students online under free conditions to enable the exchange of knowledge and to help making things easier. This is accomplished by regional online communities which are only open for students and which are carried on by students. This unique approach is the opposite to all that anti-privacy-ad-selling-communities all over the globe. UniHelp is powered by xPyrus.
